The Biological Imaging Facility is a core microscope imaging facility that specializes in widefield fluorescence, laser scanning confocal, spinning disk confocal, TIRF, and super-resolution microscopy (Lattice SIM, PALM, STORM), as well as traditional plant & animal microtechnique, histology, and cryotomy. We are housed in the Rauser College of Natural Resources.

Alison Killilea, Director of the Cell Culture Facility and Stem Cell Facility, is a research scientist with over 25 years of experience in laboratory processes and management with an expertise in stem cell culture, imaging, and immuno-labeling techniques. In addition to ongoing research, she is the Director of the Fly Food and Media Prep Facilities at UC Berkeley. She has a history of collaboration with cross-functional teams resulting in invited talks, funded grants and peer-reviewed publications.
QB3 Vincent J. Coates Proteomics/Mass Spectrometry LaboratoryContact: Robert Maxwell
The QB3 Vincent J. Coates Proteomics/Mass Spectrometry Laboratory (P/MSL) was founded in 2004 as part of UCB’s Cancer Research Laboratory. In 2007, we became the Vincent J. Coates Proteomics Laboratory, affiliated with QB3, in order to provide improved access to Proteomics services. We now occupy a spacious laboratory in Stanley Hall with a “wet” biochemistry area for protein sample preparation and room for expansion of our array of mass spectrometers.
