The Bruker Microflex LT/SH is a matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometer. Ion generation is achieved using a nitrogen laser operating at a wavelength of 337 nanometers, a variable laser repetition rate of 1 to 60 hertz, a laser power of 80 microjoules per pulse, and a mass range of up to mass-to-charge ratio (m/z)=500,000. The instrument can be operated in either positive or negative ion mode. A wide range of analyte types, such as polymers, oligonucleotides, peptides, and proteins, can be measured.
